How could you teach students about these words in a meaningful way?
· As this group is largely untrained we wanted sites to go to to use curriculum ideas from master IB teachers.
I would recommend accessing the IB's Online Curriculum Center. I can give you the User Name etc. (I'd prefer not to post it in a public setting.)Post the Profile words in two languages. Refer to with content.
· Role play ideas with the profiles.
· Trying to form their identities with these profiles.
Great ideas! There's so much you can do with the LP in different languages.
How could you facilitate connections between the Learner Profile and Language B curriculum?
· Amy shared her use of the learner profile words project in English/Spanish & French. Located on the y drive.
· Explicitly teach the profile words with the balance of content.
· Matching words with the definitions
Integrate profile vocabulary and identities into lesson plans.

How could you teach students about these words in a meaningful way?
Posting words in class and referring to the words often
from students - and maybe if math comes easily to you, not making fun of someone if they get the wrong answer?
risk-takers-using the word risk-taker when calling on students to share work or particpate in class
reflective- after assessments students explain why they thought they missed problems-careless mistakes, computation errors, hurried through, didn't understand; have students rate questions: cluelss, maybe, for sure, ask students, "does your answer make sense?"
balanced-encourage students to find their strengths in math; looking for math outside of classroom
open-minded- using multiple strategies

Take pictures of our students demonstrating these words and using these as examples

IB profile learner vocabulary and defintions on separate cards. Pass out cards. Students match up cards
Pairs of students come up with symbols for the vocabulary

Do you learners life. - Also important to consider the other terms as well, for example how physical activity can help people find "balance" in their lives. You might also consider having students study athletes who've contributed to society, for example Andre Agassi's school, etc.
